[isp-wireless] Re: YDI EtherAnt Issue
That sounds identical to a problem we had with CB3s. The fix was a firmware upgrade on the Senao card from 1.49 to 1.74. I am not familiar with the Etherants but it sounds to me like they are using the same card firmware. Is there anyway to upgrade them?

Have seen that too. In fact it was the Netgear unit you described. As
for getting a response from YDI, do not expect one. We have finally
switched away from them. We went to Tranzeo units and have had good
luck with them. The new 200 series CPE's are great, 18dbi gain just
like the Etherant's but $150 less than the Etherant's. The other thing
I like about Tranzeo is they have a 'N' model so that you can use a
different external antenna.

We discovered a serious issue with the YDI EtherAnt's in the past few
weeks and want to know if others who are using these are seeing the same
problem yet. The issue is that the EtherAnt will associate with various
802.11G wireless Ap's regardless of the EtherAnt configured essid and or
encryption. As an example, go out to Best Buy and pick up a new Netgear
54M wireless router (model WGR614 V4) and power it up anywhere near a
EtherAnt- regardless of the EtherAnt config it will immediately
associate with the netgear. (and un-associate with the correct AP!). We
have escalated this to YDI and other then to tell us "its an Agere
issue" we have received almost no feedback from them.

We have hundreds of these deployed and this has just started with newer
AP's. We even downgraded the EtherAnt firmware to something really old
and still the same issue. I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this
yet or has more insight into what is going on?
