[isp-wireless] RE: intra building bridges
I am sorry, but he said cheap.

Those units are going to cost a lot of money to deploy. And to use them
from one building to another is a waste!

He is only going no more then 1000 feet!!!!

Go to office depot and buy your stuff there. You might need an external
antenna so keep in mind that you will need an AP and one client that will
let you remove the antenna and plug in a larger antenna.

If it was me I would go with this:
1- D-LinkR AirPlusT DWL-900AP+
1- D-Link USB client to plug into the remote computer.

That should be it. If you need more signal after testing this and the
distance then get two external flat panel antennas.

Should not cost more then $300 for the entire project, and it will work
perfectly.

What is the maximum practical distance using these units?

Two Tranzeo 3115 in pxp mode.

Can't beat it for a outdoor intra building link.

I have 7 sets deployed in the field.

I am a DSL provider primarily, but am getting requests from customers
who want to extend their network from one building to another (house to
barn) for example. Typical distances are 100 - 300' I am figuring I need
some 802.11b bridges that support external antennas and some antenna. I
also want to keep the price reasonable.

Any recommendations?

Tim
