SMTP Service & RADIUS Authentication

I am using Windows 2000 SMTP service in IIS for authenticated mail relay.
External users wishing to relay must authenticate against accounts in Active
Directory.
Can mail relay authorization be achieved using a RADIUS server for
authentication instead of Active Directory?
