Re: [isp-tech] Exchange Server consulting
Hi;

I guess you mean for an enterprise, as I would not consider Exchange a
realistic approach for ISP/Broadband applications. Several companies in this
market (ISP) do provide "Exchange or rather Outlook" connectors. CommuniGate
Pro, iPlanet, and I thought Critical Path.

Regards,

Jon

Thanks for your input, Nick. I understand that licensing for Microsoft
servers is expensive. In this particular case, we found it well worth the
cost to have remote-accessible shared calendars, contacts, and messaging
while continuing to use the Outlook interface that end-users were already
accustomed to.

Cheers,
Justin

Can someone take it live and not have it be an open relay for the entire
internet? Allow remote secure access to mail?

The reality is that setting up a mail server only seems simple - It
might even be fairly simple to do it for a small number of people who
have limited needs. Doing it right for an enterprise is actually pretty
hard.

If Microsoft has made it possible to "do it right" for an enterprise
while not taking 6 servers (and licenses) to do the job that could
properly be done by two, that might be interesting.
