You could also go with an Ascend MAX-4000 and three 56K-mod-16 cards for 48 modems for under 1,000.00. Plug in a CT1 or PRI circuit and support up to about 70-100 customers. Monthly costs for the circuit varies from telco to telco and is the one area that you need to look closest at. It will determine if you make/break in the dialup business as it ranges from 250.00 to 1,500.00 monthly. Or you can use Lucent PM3s or Cisco, your choice. Price, learning curve, skill sets really will determine which piece of gear you should select. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vincent Jordan" <vjordan@...> To: <isp-tech@isp-tech.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 22, 2003 6:35 PM Subject: [isp-tech] RE: new isp > Go with a pri t-1 I would suggest that you start off with a usr total > control 500 you can get them with the v.34 cards and flash up to v.90. v.92 > is in my own opinion crap, ive yet to see it work properly on any system. > When I started that is what I used.
