did u try "plumb" ing the interface.?
also check S30rootusr.sh in /etc/rcS.d
add the plumb comman at the end of this file.

Hello,
My onboard Network card on my ultra 10 is not working and i added another
pci card but unfortuanately for me even though at the OBP prompt the
machine recognises it at the OS level it does not come up. Can anyone help
me solve this.
