How many more that have never been a part of the group are not  
factored into that absentee number as well?  I went to a few of these  
types of meetings in the past and found them to be nothing but bitch  
fests and feel good sessions.. It was nice, like going to trade shows  
and other industry events to hang out, have a few cold ones and put a  
name to the many faces.  Outside of that, there was never anything  
productive to be gained.

I find more value in being a member of the Junior Chamber where my  
time actually matters ;-)
