Prior to the 3rd Quarter rankings of 2002

was using Cyber Atlas' estimate of 149 million subscribers. Starting from
their 4th Quarter 2002,

rankings they were using Jupiter Research estimates of 74.3 million as the
basis point to calculate from.

and you get other estimates. Nielsen's shows 138.80 million users as of June

So that being said, what is the best case data available to use to draw a
conclusion from? Most business plans I have seen or have done research for,
use the Neilsen's ratings. Draw your own conclusions on what stats to
consider.
