[isp-marketing] Re: Blogging...Popular or Craze?
Now this is a novel idea...

Offer free blog hosting for your ISP clients. Make sure that they can be "unlisted" if you keep a directory (just like unlisted phone #'s).

Similar to LiveJournal, yet hosted on your own servers under your own domain, or the customers domain if they wish. Sell it as a package deal:
1 - domain hosting
2 - blogging software (MoveableType (www.moveabletype.org) is recommended IMO).
3 - a couple of email addresses and a snazzy webmail/email creation interface.

I'm sure this would appeal to a select crowd of people, and generate additional revenue based off a few minutes of setup time. Not bad.

Is blogging really that popular?

It does not seem too hard to custom write a cold fusion or mysql for that matter.

blogger.com says they have about 1 million registered users. Is it too late? Are there software packages that offer blogging plus many other features I have not thought of.

Ideas anyone?
