But I thought I would share this from CBS Marketwatch: Broadband providers dim their own prospects Nine out of 10 broadband service companies have raised prices in the past year, a trend that is expected to continue, according to ARS Inc. The pattern continued in the first quarter of the year, as cable broadband pricing rose to an average of $44.95 a month and DSL subscribers were asked to pay $51.82 in March. "Industry consolidation has ripped through the broadband market in the last year," said Mark Kersey, an industry analyst at ARS. "We expect this trend of fewer choices and increasing prices to continue ... (which will) hamper the widespread adoption of broadband services."
