Re: Line tester
Vern and Thorsten
You might want to have a look at the equipment reviews by McCarty Associates:
http://www.mccartyinc.com/equipart.php
They include many of the popular line testers. Not all are designed for DSL. Most of them take some time to trust, but once you know your tester, you are not likely to want to swap. If you aren't sure, some people sign up for a class where they can try a few before buying them. Of course, if you take the course from one of the vendors, you don't get to try as many!
The Sunrise provides both line testing (TDR, Load coil, DMM...) and xDSL modem turn-up. The "Full Chassis" has all the line test stuff. I've seen them recently on ebay for about $1000 (US). Not all come with DSL modem modules. Sunrise warranties their units for 3 years, even if you aren't the original owner, which includes software upgrades and phone support.

If it sounds like I know a lot about Sunrise, that's because I used to work there. In fact, if anybody needs some training on the Sunrise or DSL Turn-Up, let me know. I've never been to Spain!
