Two questions: I'm considering moving our two name servers to a new domain name that we own. If I've got several existing servers, can I safely register them in another domain while they're actively registerd in another? Also, we've got one secondary DNS server in another domain run by a friend. Could I register that server's IP address as a name server in one of may domains? Is this wise or something to avoid? Of course, I'd need to be kept abreast of any IP changes should he decide to move that server, so that I could update it in my own domain, but the server hasn't moved in years and is unlikely to in the future. What I'd like to do is change the following: ns1.ourpreviousdomainname.com = 192.168.46.115 ns2.ourpreviousdomainname.com = 192.168.46.116 ns1.myfriendsdomainname.com = 10.0.14.203 to ns1.newname.com = 192.168.46.115 ns2.newname.com = 192.168.46.116 ns3.newname.com = 10.0.14.203
