The domain is past expiration, yes.
That does NOT mean it has stopped working, registrars can have up to a
40 day grace period to give their registrants before deleting it. Then
when they DO delete it, it will go into a redemption period for 75 days
during which no one will be able to register it. The original
registrant, who was listed as the owner/registrant, can redeem it
through the ORIGINAL registrar only during that period, and will pay a
large fee for the privilege. So the domain can exist in whois for up to
roughly 115 days past expiration date before being available to
reregister.
