The first question is whether or not it has expired -- it has. See http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=sycamorespeedway.com&server=whois.melbourneit.com&cache=off . That URL checks the WHOIS in real-time (normally it gets cached, but this URL turns the caching off). It expired 04 Apr 2003.My partner's family owns a race track. Someone is currently running their site and doing a very horrible job of such. (www.sycamorespeedway.com) (See how bad it is? try www.geocities.com/sycamorespeedway) He hasn't been able to find anyone at the track that really knows what's going on. Their domain name has supposedly expired. The whois on my web site says it's been renewed, but everywhere else I see says that it's expired. However, they all say that it's still registered. How can it be registered, but expired? Some registrars (Network Solutions until now was the only one I knew of) hoard expired domains. In most cases, it is impossible to get the domain back when this happens (although NetSol lets you gamble $60 -- they tell you that you "may" get the domain if you pay their SnapNames division $60, but there is no guarantee). -Scott --- Declude JunkMail: The advanced anti-spam solution for IMail mailservers.
