[isp-dns] Re: Should I have to restart BIND for updates?

I had a customer change a domain from one host (not us) to another host
(not us). Every other name server that we checked became aware of the
change almost immediately.
just:

dig @yourDNS domain.com

... and see what the TTL and the RDATA fields are. There, that wasn't hard was it?

The advantages of caching is obvious, the slight disadvantage of caching is, too. :))

With bind8, you cannot clear the cache without stop/start of named.

Witn bind9, there is "rndc flush", by popular demand.
