The DNSreport site looks for problems with the domain, which may or may not be related to problems you are having. http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/lookup.ch?name=www.truckalarm.com&type=A shows that www.truckalarm.com resolves to a CNAME that points to truckalarm.com, which has an A record of 66.227.7.121. That happens to be the same IP as one of your DNS servers. Is that the IP address of your web server? > In any event, I'm not certain how to go about accomplishing what you have > suggested. Then you may want to consider outsourcing your DNS, if you don't already. If you are not running your own DNS, you should copy my post to whoever provides your DNS server. > Also, you say that the other domains aren't using the exact same > configuration - how were you able to even determine the other domains I have > hosted on this account? Because you said that the error wasn't occurring with the other domains. If the other domains were set up in the same way, the same error would occur on those domains. > If it is the nameservers which are at issue, then if I have the other > domains configured with the same Name Servers, wouldn't they have the same > problem? It's not the nameservers -- it's the "zone data". You've told the root servers one thing, and your zone says another thing. They really should match. > Also - it's unclear to me why FTP and email would work properly but not > http. That's because they are different protocols. E-mail, for example, will look up the MX record, which is different than the A record. The problem here seems to be with your web host -- www.truckalarm.com gets to their webserver, which is responding, but with just "<html>". It may simply be that you uploaded an index.html file that just says "<html>". -Scott --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] <- Previous Message | Next Message -> Thread Index |
