You should really, really think carefully about how that situation developed. Some reasonable people would argue that it appears that PAETEC signed something bordering on a pink contract (that's a "contract which allows spamming" for those of you who aren't "spam nazis"). At the time, PAETEC did a beautiful job of painting itself as the victim, but a more careful analysis of the situation showed that might not be an accurate representation of the case. Now, the merits and downsides of this issue aren't trivial, but the point wasn't to debate that. Here's the thing a potential customer should think about: if you are looking for dedicated internet access, PAETEC most likely still has some (or all) of its address space blocked off at the firewall level at many providers. This means that their capability to provide full Internet access is likely to be less than that of a competing provider. And if I'm a spam nazi because I'm pointing that out, well then you're a fscking newbie and can go stuff yourself (apologies to all the more reasonable people on the list, of course).
