 Interesting moral/legal issue!  They certainly might want to claim the
right
to be paid someday!

But the pratical matter is so far below the legal radar screen that it is
invisible.  I would be more worried practically about interference with some
one next door doing the same thing or your customer being blocked by the guy
down the block with his own personal network system.
