<x-flowed> That's where i am at, albeit a few steps behind. The legal issue is what im worried about. Most powerCo's use public right of way's and that should give us some rights(yea right) Jeromie Reeves At 11:02 AM 8/7/2002 -0700, you wrote: Right now a few small Wireless ISP's are doing this in a neighborhood setting from one of their wireless subs within the limitation of not going past the transformer. I myself am getting ready to deploy powerline in those situations that I can take advantage of the technology. The cost of a client end powerline device is under 80.00. The manufacturers who are shipping home plug gear is Linksys and Netgear. I have myself a couple units running in a private setting and am looking for long term performance issues. Granted this isn't on the scale of what Clecs want to do but it is the grassroots of Powerline technology. The problem I have is the legality of running our system over the power company with out paying them money to use their infrastructure. But this is the beginning of the powerline revolution that has the ability to add additional broadband competition or allow the power companies to be an additional infrastructure monopolistic competitor. Just some thoughts to ponder George Blazing Speed ! No wires to slow us down !
