The house was lonely and self-contained, perched on the cliff above a far reach of the lake. There was even a bolt so that it could be locked from this side, though for what hideous reason I couldnt possibly imagine. Ive always wanted to be rich. Thats not the major point though. I was staggering and mumbling to myself while I did it. I was stopped dead. The alley mouth opened out into a main street a few feet ahead and I saw two police cars tear by.
