My squid is 2.4.6-2, installed from Debian package. CPU usage is not related to number of objects in cache, I tried to start squid with empty cache, it still eats about 70% of CPU with 2Mbit/s of traffic. My cache size is 10Gigs, but I tried 2, 4, 8Gb, same result. There are no unusual errors in squid log files... I tried to compile squid from sources, problem persists.
