[isp-caching] RE: Regarding Alternative Caching
https://www.mikrotik.com

Put a test system together. A P200 and two or three 3com pci nics. Try
the free demo version. Has bandwidth management and a good web
interface.

Subject: [isp-caching] Regarding Alternative Caching

Hi all,

We have been using Squid for the last 3 years for our ISP operations.
Although, we are very happy with its performance, we're on a lookout for
alternative solutions for caching and bandwidth management ,as our
customer's applications have grown. In this regard, I've come accross
hardware solutions such as Cisco's Cache engine, Allot Net Enforcer etc
all
of which are great products, but which come with a big price tag. So,
I'm
looking for software based products or hardwares, which can do the job
yet
does't bite off a chunk from my pocket. If somebody can provide me with
suggestions, i'd be most grateful.
