OK, 
You will then always have the problem/risk of blackholing traffic when
timers are run down before declaring the neighbor down and withdrawing the
prefixes, but that problem is inherent to the protocol :-/

Try looking into the possibility of deploying BFD (Bi-directional
Forwarding Detection), in order to minimize convergence. It is not
supported on all platforms however...

Your question (or at least subject) talks about multihop? Since the cicuits
will probably be Layer3 p2p's, I do not understand your question. What are
you trying to achieve?
