You might then want to bifurcate your PI space - one block goes to
one location, the
other to the other, with no over all short prefix / CIDR hole announced.

You also want to make sure that you have a link going from site A
to site B.
If your link at site B announcing the /23 goes down, all that
traffic will
be directed to Site A with the /20 announcement.

Route lookup works by selecting the most specific route over lesser
specific. Thus, a /23 you announce in Site B would take precedence
over the HQ /20 announcement. Traffic bound to IP's outside of that
/23 would end up
going to your HQ where /20 is being announced.

I have been googling for the answer to this, but couldn't find it.
I have ARIN PI space at my an ASN in my headquarters location. It
announces the /20.
I now have a new location that is not on my attached network,
thus, it
has its own upstream peers and whatnot. Can I announce a smaller
/23 from my
/20 from the new location? Will the remainder of the /20 continue to
go towards my existing ASN?
I don't know if there is some "glue" that ties my /20 to my primary
sites ASN.
