I have read a few documents that recommend 1sec advertisement-interval for internal peers and 5sec for external... others advice changing the hold down timer... I would be grateful for any advice or know best practices anybody could give me. All input is welcome and apologies if I am being a noob! Upstream: Use defaults on TDM media (where end-to-end bidirectional status is detectable). Use short timers (perhaps as aggressive as 5/15) on Ethernet media where end-to-end bidirectional status isn't easily detectable aside from keepalives. Downstream: Reuse system defaults (Cisco, 60/180), but enforce a minimum of 10/30 so the customer can't tighten down to lower than that without requesting the specific value (and justifying WHY they need that). pt To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
