Hi there, This is my first post to the group. We have been around for a while but had always ran PI space though a 3rd party. As the business has grown we have been assigned our own AS and /19 from RIPE. I have worked on SME customer networks for a while so feel quite comfortable with our IGP - OSPF. It is the EGP than has me diving for the manual... I have been playing with the various options within BGP and am not sure if i should change the cisco default timers? I have read a few documents that recommend 1sec advertisement-interval for internal peers and 5sec for external... others advice changing the hold down timer... IGP has the following timers. ! ip ospf hello-interval 3 ip ospf dead-interval 15 We also plan for connecting some customers with HSRP. The customers 'LAN' allocation will be Conditionally advertised on existence of their 'WAN'/30 prefix. Both of these prefixes will be carried via iBGP. Are there any issues with the outbound (customers perspective) timers of HSRP and the inbound timers of iBGP? I would be grateful for any advice or know best practices anybody could give me. All input is welcome and apologies if I am being a noob! Kindest Regards James To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
