Is this in North America? If so, you should have your customers that are multihomed register for an ASN with ARIN, then they can advertise their routes to their hearts content and everything will be proper and legal. If you are their upstream provider, then you should register your own ASN and advertise all the PI space (or their PI space). My question is... If they don't have a registered ASN, how do they have public PI space? ------------------------------------ SmartTel Communications Jim Barstow Sr. Telecom Engineer jimb@... And, unfortunate, also willing. But, that's quite stupid, no ? Can't one of them provide you with a registered ASN ? > See http://www.cymru.com/BGP/asnbogusrep.html for the list of offenders. I know. Some of our routers filter and reject all private ASNs received from providers. I bet some of our providers already filter those announcements.
