You'll need to do your homework to make sure you don't advertise provider 1's routes to provider 2 and vice versa, and your customers may want you to come up with ways for them to adjust their traffic, much like your providers let you do into/out of their network.I work for a mid-size ISP that is looking to start taking a full route table from our 2 upstream providers. Our network operations staff is a 2 man crew and we are wondering what kind of day to day or week to week type of administration is involved in being a full on BGP player. Right now we only take on default routes from our providers. So any info we can gather the better. Adding new upstreams can be hairy at first, but usually it means that you'll have excess capacity at first, so any imbalances don't matter at first. Custom customer configurations often become a support "sink", so do whatever you can to let the customer control things themselves (i.e. community configurations, etc.). Best of luck - it should go fine for you. pt To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
