Because Cisco doesn't by default understand that.  You need to specify
the $ at the end:

#sh ip bgp paths _7018$
Address    Hash Refcount Metric Path
0x64E3BF00  628        2      0 3356 7018 i

0x6484C4A4 1481        4      0 10913 7018 i

The IOS software interprets 7018 as anything with 7018 in the path.
