I started to use openbgpd on openbsd since quagga is a little bit unstable and buggy in the last few releases. But i prefer this software-solutions too - its really more cost-effective und flexible.

If it is all Ethernet, just use a box running Linux or freebsd. Then run quagga on them www.quagga.net. I am handling about 60 peers and 3 transit providers that way.

No need to use cisco on a budget. :)

John :)
