Thanks for the feedback... I plan to only advertise my networks via one ISP (so I'll be announcing ISP-A and ISP-B networks via one ISP) for a short time until a new connection can be established between the sites again (probably take a few weeks).... then things will be back to "normal" again. I'll check with my ISP on the aggregates... Thanks again, Rob At 10:58 AM 12/23/2004 -0500, you wrote: Rob Genovesi wrote:My question is, what happens if/when I severe the conneciton between the two sites? Can SITE-B still advertise networks that are provided from ISP-1 and vice-versa? Can the two sites still use the same (public) ASN even though there is no direct connection between the two?Theoretically, the two sites have unique routing policies and should use different ASN, but it should work with one. Just make sure you can split the announcements, or sites could end up blackholing traffic intended for the other. You might consider a GRE tunnel between the sites if you have a small amount of overlap, but that could introduce some problems of its own.
