Can the two sites still use the same (public) ASN even though there is no direct connection between the two?Theoretically, the two sites have unique routing policies and should use different ASN, but it should work with one. Just make sure you can split the announcements, or sites could end up blackholing traffic intended for the other. You might consider a GRE tunnel between the sites if you have a small amount of overlap, but that could introduce some problems of its own. We have IP network blocks assigned by ISP-1 but I want to use them primarily at SITE-B where there is no direct connection to ISP-1.ISP-1 shouldn't care as long as you still have a connection to ISP-1. However, you might have problems if your address space is covered under a shorter aggregate from ISP-1 and you don't have connectivity between them. pt To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
