Nothing too intense there, both routers have something along
these lines to all of their peers (md5 settings removed):

neighbor 1.2.3.13 remote-as 3356
neighbor 1.2.3.13 description "Level 3 Peer"
neighbor 1.2.3.13 send-community
neighbor 1.2.3.13 timers  keep-alive 10  hold-time 30
neighbor 1.2.3.13 update-source 1.2.3.14
neighbor 1.2.3.13 prefix-list MY-PREFIXES out
neighbor 1.2.3.13 soft-reconfiguration inbound

I've got similar settings for two other upstreams and iBGP
and my full route load times per peer range from 30
seconds to three minutes.  The connection types range
from OC3 up to GigE and the OC3 is actually the fastest
one to load even though it's the slowest link.  Remote
routers are Juniper, Cisco and Foundry and I'm using Foundry
on my side.
