Hi,

BGP is a memory intensive protocol. The minimun requirement for bgp will be 256 MB DRAM. Right now internet community announces around 150K prefixes and still growing.

The 2821 should be able to handle about 170 kpps.
If the packet size is 64-Byte (which are the smallest in Ethernet) it should
be enough for about 83 Mb/s. Or am I wrong??

Hi,

BGP support? yes
not sure it could handle 30Mb/s, it depends on the number of pps.

personally I prefer refurbished 7200 vxr with npe-400 if my budget is
limited.
