Re: [isp-bgp] Cisco 2800 Series Router - BGP-Support?
hmm, if Cisco says 170kpps, usually in the actual production environment will be 'much lower'

with bgp running (3 full BGP feed?), snmp etc etc...
personally I think it will be very risky, I still prefer refurbished 400kpps npe400 :p

The 2821 should be able to handle about 170 kpps.
If the packet size is 64-Byte (which are the smallest in Ethernet) it should
be enough for about 83 Mb/s. Or am I wrong??

Hi,

BGP support? yes
not sure it could handle 30Mb/s, it depends on the number of pps.

personally I prefer refurbished 7200 vxr with npe-400 if my budget is
limited.

Subject: [isp-bgp] Cisco 2800 Series Router - BGP-Support?

Hi all!

First of all, my English is no so good. But I hope you can understand my
question.

I want to connect my company to 3 different upstream Providers. Each with
a
bandwidth of 10 Mbit/s.
Because I have a very small budget, I need a cheap router which supports
BGP.
Does anyone know if the new 2800 Series Router from Cisco will meet my
requirements?
Or are they to slow respectively do not support BGP?

Thank you for your Help!

Best Regards

Mat
