Hi Normally, you make EBGP on loopbacks, when you have multiple links to the same service provider, and need load-balancing. But still in that case, you would have to use the Physical connected ports as the next-hop, for maintaining the TCP connectivity, as the loopbacks are always 1-hop away. You cannot make multiple EBGP peering on the physical interface, so you must use loopback, for multiple links to the SAME provider. If you have a single EBGP link, then you could go in for the Physical ports as EBGP interfaces. Hope this helps.
