I have just upgraded our 7206 to 12.3(7)T, and noticed icmp spikes on all connections within our subnet range (/20) i.e. pinging any IP in our range results in a spike every 60 seconds or so. This occured on our previos IOS ver, and was because of bgp-scanner cpu spikes (Fixed by enabling ip cef) I enabled ip cef - It did not fix the spikes and then noticed that the portchannel had "no ip route-cache cef" (Must be added by default?) Should the no ip route-cache cef be removed from every interface? Adding ip cef to the previous IOS (121-5.T17) fixed the spikes without any further issues.
