A few problems: * You're trying to route a subnet to an IP address in it * Static routes to reachable IP addresses do not go down. If you want the route withdrawn when the ethernet interface goes down, you need to nail the route to that interface _or_ learn it from another source (e.g., your switch you mentioned) and use BGP synchronization.
