I am doing some research in what options there are for using another
transport protocol than TCP for BGP.
Several of the questions I am looking for is:
What are the advantages and disadvantages of using TCP for BGP?
The last question what I've tried to get information about is, if we
could use another transport protocol for BGP and what
advantages/disadvantages would that protocol have?
There have been some talk about a company named Packet Design which have
a protocol which they call BST(BGP Scalable Transport Protocol) that fix
some of the shortcomings with TCP, however I have limited information
about this.
If some of you know something, please add you information or have some
external link that have taken this up for discussion.
