Heh, heh... probably not.

BGP is Border Gateway Protocol.  In a few words, it's
a protocol used to spread dynamic routes between routers
on the internet.

It's not really an easy subject.  I recommend getting a book, like
John W. Stewart's "BGP4" book... that way you have a baseline.

Generally, unless you need to get your own IP addresses from ARIN or
if you're not multihomed (i.e. get bandwidth from more than one upstream),
you don't need it.
