Basically transport costs. Note att and qwest etc. What about the LEC that makes agreement with Microsoft or Yahoo to be the isp. Not only does the LEC get big $ from MSN, msn eats the bandwidth and marketing bill, and pays for and builds new transport infrastructure etc etc.... msn gets like $5 per month per customer per pipe.
