[isp-australia] mac email problems

Hi List

having some grief with a mac and outlook express not being able to send
emails via pop-auth enabled mail server. The system logs in fine but just
either times out or just refuses to send the email thru. Sometimes it will
send after 20 attempts. Adding in 3 class b's for relay is just way to
risky. Does anyone have any solutions apart from the obvious of throw it
away buy a pc.
