Re: Caller ID Info
The CallerID data I get from Comindico _does not_ honour my
silent line, ie I have a silent line and the number comes up in
caller-id info with Comindico ports.

So, your reseller may doing the right thing under the
circumstances.

I note that Flow (or is it Megapop) mask the last 3 digts of the
Caller-ID attribute - it would seem for this very reason.

Perhaps someone can enlighen us to the workings of caller-id in
an inter-carrier environment. My guess is that SS7 needs the
origin number and the fact that it is a 'silent line' is not
something that can be conveyed.

In this case, the outsource provider could create a substitute
attribute, the computed value of which could be recorded in the
isp back-end to check if a different caller-id is being
presented. In this context, you have 100% availability of the
(substitute) caller-id value making it a useful attribute.

Customer complains that they didn't make a call at such and such
a date and time - you see that this session has recorded a
uniquely different value for the new attribute so you give them a
credit and blacklist that substitute-caller-id value henceforth.
